Arbiter
The Soul of Absolute Adherence
The term "Arbiter" refers to an Angel associated with the sephirah of Geburah. This association manifests not only in an alignment of ideals, but also physiological differences to an extent that angels of different sephirot can be categorized as belonging to separate species.
With few exceptions, Arbiters resemble towering statues carved of marble. They often possess an exaggerated or aesthetically perfect humanoid form, be that masculine or feminine. In truth, Arbiters possess no gender save for that which they choose. Each body is painstakingly constructed by the angels themselves, who possess only rudimentary spiritual form, then possessed as a vessel through which to enact God's will. An Arbiter whose body is destroyed must spend a lengthy time carving a new one. This act is seen as both meditative and penitent; an opportunity to reflect on the failings which led to the loss of the old vessel. Naturally, with their bodies carved from marble, Arbiters are universally durable and physically powerful. Their constructs are vulnerable, however, to attacks which focus on the destruction of physical materials.
As representations of absolute adherence to the law of heaven, the Arbiters' sole directive is to keep the unworthy out of Samayim. For the majority of those in the sephirah, "unworthy" is a description applied to any and all Humans. As the opposite of Chesed's love and acceptance, Geburah exemplifies scorn and separation. So too do the Arbiters take an unyielding stance against those who seek to enter the heavenly realms and God's presence.
Angels, as a general rule, do not kill. To slay a human is to fall and become a Demon. Therefore, Arbiters possess a unique characteristic which allows them to permanently restrain those they face without ever dealing a lethal blow. The Left Hand of God dwells within each construct, forcing those they physically overpower to slow and ultimately fall still. Beings so restrained are locked outside of time, permanently frozen until such time as God's Mercy sees fit to release them.
