Kannonji Castle

A mysterious castle which began appearing at night in Ōmi Province in the Winter of 1559. Kannonji Castle brought with it its own province, Kōka Province, when it manifested. To everyone below a certain threshold of spiritual power, it had always been there. Or, more accurately, it had never left. Kannonji Castle did indeed exist as part of Ōmi until earlier in the year, when it was destroyed in the Oda Clan's march west, and razed to the ground by Shibata Katsuie.   Somehow, it returned in full. The only member of the original Rokkaku Clan to survive Rokkaku Yoshinobu, now calling herself Shōtei by way of having become a Buddhist monk. By her own account, it's the work of a Buddha that she was able to return, and from the same Buddha that she learned a technique to elevate animals into yōkai. These elevated yōkai rule the castle as the Council of Six Corners, one for each of the six hexagonal towers that give the castle its distinctive shape.
