Tachibana Ginchiyo
Daimyō of the Tachibana Clan
Fiery Daimyō Tachibana Ginchiyo (a.k.a. 立花 誾千代)
Summary
A fiery, impassioned woman who holds position as Daimyō of the Tachibana Clan. Her temper is known to be both short and explosive, and her power in battle is rumored to be matched by few in the nation. Despite her hotheaded nature, she does attempt to be a good leader for those under her command, troops or otherwise, and is tempered by her level-headed husband, Tachibana Muneshige. Her hobbies include enjoying all types of alcohol and falling asleep in her husband's arms.Unique Abilities
Overwhelming Furor: Tachibana Ginchiyo's attacks carry such fury and destructive power that ordinary equipment is crushed by her strikes. Any time an enemy blocks one of Tachibana Ginchiyo's attacks, regardless of whether the block was successful, she may immediately roll a Breakage check to attempt to break the weapon. Likewise, if Ginchiyo lands a successful hit on an enemy, regardless of whether she deals damage, she may make a Breakage check to destroy that enemy's top layer of armor. These Breakage attempts do not need to be declared in advance, are not actions, and do not affect the other consequences, damage or otherwise, caused by her attack. An enemy whose weapon is broken by this attack is not able to counterattack, even if they exceeded Ginchiyo's attack roll with their defense. Use of this ability is voluntary.Mental characteristics
Personal history
Through a complicated series of marriages, relations, and politics, Tachibana Ginchiyo was, against her will, given the title of Daimyō, ruling over Chikuzen Province, while still owing fealty to the Hashiba family based far to the east. The position did come with a notable perk in the form of Tachibana Muneshige, who was originally an arranged spouse for Ginchiyo, but whom she quickly found herself falling in love with.
News of the Tachibana Clan and its Daimyō first reached the Hashinara when they received word that a potential battle was brewing between the family in question and the Shimazu Clan to the south, and that their holdings in Bungo Province may be in danger. Apparently, the Shimazu had sent a shipment of fine wine to the Tachibana as a peace offering, but it had never arrived; quite possibly ending up in the possession of Kamimusubi instead. Ginchiyo took the non-arrival of the liquor as an insult and, as relations were already poor between the two clans, began preparing for war.
