Doscium

Properties

Material Characteristics

Doscium is a dark gray metal which, when polished, is often smooth and has a matte look to it. In its raw form, Doscium appears similar to the ores of iron or copper as it the element is often found inlaid within either of those ores.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Doscium is very tough and malleable, making it easy to mold and forge into weapons and armour. The metal itself seems to be naturally matte in its polished and worked form and is a darker gray colour. Doscium is imbued with natural magic from the formation of the mortal plane, primarily magic of a darker kind. This leads the metal to feel unnaturally cold to the touch, but allows the metal to give off such energy making it far deadlier in combat when used in weaponry.

Compounds

Doscium is typically favored single element uses, due to alloys reducing the magical strength of the metal. Doscium will, however, sometimes be reinforced and made into alloys with adamantine or mithril.

Geology & Geography

Doscium is often found near natural wells of magic on the edge of rockier hills and mountains. It typically forms near the surface but is quite rare in comparison to other metals used for forging and metalwork.

Origin & Source

This metal is found within veins of iron and copper located near magical wells.
