Cithrea
Entering Cithrea via ship. As the ship approaches Cithrea, you make your way to the bow where you take in the sight of the outer wall of the city. On top of the wall are all of eight towers looking out on the water, with more towers on the land in the distance. The ship makes its way to through one of the tall gates and as you turn to look back at the giant outer wall, you see this side has many more windows with people walking through corridors and looking at the city. You are fared towards the docks and see the many ships that came before you. Between the outer and inner city wall you see a small bay of sand with beach mansions. With the inner wall being only two stories high, you see prismatic diversity of many colored rooftops of small houses and shops. As accustomed as you were to the smell of the sea, your nostrils begin to pick up the fragrances of the city like the slightly unhygienic still waters accompanied by smoke from burning stoves and the smell of freshly baked goods.
Morning in inner Cithrea. As you leave the accommodation, the fresh morning sea air meets your nostrils. Sounds from busy people starting their day great your ears. Students are late for classes and trying to catch a ride on one of the many small rowing boats that float in the canals, most of which are already occupied. Merchants are dragging the last of their wares towards the market. And just like you, Cithrea is ready to take on the day.A city in North East Matonga, mostly populated by elves and a variety of students and staff from all races that come for the magical colleges and the Cithrean Consortium for Magic.

Government
Cithrea is officially considered Elven territory and falls under Elven government. The appointed major is Ailen Aejor. The on average long lifespan of Elves and the resulting the slow pace of government means that most non-Elven inhabitants experience political stability throughout their life.
Defences
Each of the city gates functions as a watchtower manned by the city guard. Threats within the city mostly fall in the category of small quarrels and the occasional duel between student mages and are handled by the city guard. Threats from outside of the city are often signaled to the consortium who have since the founding of the city always proven mightier than any threat that has ever presented itself. The proven tactic is to close the gates to buy as much time as possible before the threat can enter the outer wall, while the many mages in the city release their firepower onto their foe.
Industry & Trade
The largest drive of this city's economy is the consortium. The most obvious is students that come from all over the continent to receive their higher education and the professors and staff who facilitate this. Any place with such a high density of mages will have a bustling market of magical items. Buyers and traders travel from afar to take part in the trading, bringing also other wares for sale too. The markets also trade mysterious goods that are produced by the various societies in the The Highoak Woods.
Some deals are directly made at the docks as soon as the ships come in, but most trading is done at the daily market. Some vendors have a stall each day, but most are present a single day of the week, spending the other days scouting of manufacturing wares. Those that have a business steady enough for a daily stall tend to eventually acquire real estate to open up a permanent shop right in the market square.
Infrastructure
Cithrea has inner and outer city walls, both hexagonal in shape. The outer wall is characterized by three towers on each of the six sides and a large gate between the sides. Three of these gates connect the city to the sea, the other three connect it to land. The city center and lower class residential areas lie within the hexagonal inner city wall. In this area, the streets are water and all heavy duty transportation is done by boat. Transportation by foot is possible over narrow sidewalks and steep arched bridges. Between the inner and outer city wall, the land side is inhabited by the upper class who live in large villas and in the towers on the outer wall. The sea side hosts the docs and some fish farms. The eight towers on the outer wall house the colleges of the Cithrean Consortium for Magic.
Geography
Cithrea is located a few kilometers north of the Clearwen river mouth into the The Rough Sea. Surrounding the city are some farmer's fields that neighbor the The Highoak Woods.
Natural Resources
Wheat, vegetables and meat come from the agricultural fields that surround the village. Fresh fish is caught at sea daily. Wood is won from the The Highoak Woods. Raw stone materials are traded with Folkvar and the more precious of gems and (magical crafting) materials from the Otness Mountains are brought in by ship via the Clearwen river.
