Alchemist
Where a Potioner uses that what mother nature provides to work his art, the alchemist strives to alter said nature. The alchemist may produce a light source by altering the properties of a stone to make it shine, he may mix metals like a Smith does or brew potions like a Potioner. He is just as likely to combine all those fields into one task, to achieve one goal.
Most alchemists are active magic users but that is, just as with potion brewing not strictly necessary as alchemical processes are rituals just as potion brewing is.
The road to becoming an alchemist is long and the profession is hazardous. The basic apprenticeship is at least 5 years and often the masters require the previous schooling either at a magical academy or an equivalent to Adeptus Minor qualification level.
