Potioner
Potioner or potion brewer, sometimes even pharmacologist are all words used for people who brew potions, mix other concussions and produce ointments out of naturally occurring substances.
From plants and animals, whole or parts, to minerals and many more ingredients they produce elixirs, potions, salves, rubs, drugs and many other things that manipulate the body, mind and even soul of the users.
Potions is a very popular field of study for many due to the high esteem of that profession. And because of what little magic is needed to activate the brews lies within everybody's reach. With, of course, the exception of those recipes that require spells or a larger amount of magics.
Fundamentally, brewing a potion can and must be considered a ritual, thus the magic is built up slowly making this application accessible to everybody so inclined. It even can be done by a ritualistic coven or circle IF the recipe allows for such.
The basic traing for many magic users does to some degree or another include potion brewing and thus almost all Mages, Witches and even Sorccerers can be expected to have some solid knowledge in that field. The true potioner however has apprenticed under a guilded Master for quite some time, most often no less than 3 years, and has earned his Journeyman of potions befor he may work unsupervised.
Another group of masters in potion brewing are the Alchemists, it is save to assume that an alchemist has at least obtained his Journeyman in potions as well.
