Banner

A Banner is formed by seven Pennants. The Banner constitutes the main unit in military doctrine and planning within the Hojan Confederation.
Garrisons in cities tend to be at a Banner and bigger fortresses are generally manned by one or even more.

Banners are commanded by the Bannermaster and thus is made up by 525 soldiers

As far as organisation goes, one Pennant is the Banner-Pennant, tasked with security for the Bannermaster, with the logistical operation and supply for the Banner and with special assignments for it like courier service, scouting etc.

The Starm of this Banner-Pennant is called the Banner-Starm and is almost always the second in command of the Banner. Accordingly, one of the Left-Hands is called Banner-Hand and takes over regular command of the Pennant.

This gives the Bannermaster a regular fighting force of 450 men in six Pennants with a further 75 men reserve in the form of his Benner-Pennant. A Banner is a formidable fighting force of 526 men and women at arms.
