Flow Matrix Storages

Flow Matrix Storages are items that enable an active magic user to cast spells by channelling his own magical energy into the item that contains a matrix that can form the energy. In essence, the owner can cast a spell he does not know anything about.
The user has to initiate the flow of energy to the matrix storage and that is it. The item will then drain the needed amount from the user and the spell is cast. That this might not be the best idea in all circumstances should be obvious, the storage item will always drain the needed energy and thus, if the user's core is exhausted it will drain the lifeforce from him.

History

The ritual to produce a Flow Matrix Storage is quite old. It is rumored that even during The Creation of Turian's Worldsuch items were already in use.

We do not really know to what extent the ritual has changed but taking into account that almost all magical traditions know such a ritual and those rituals are fairly similar it is a reasonable assumption that the ancient people did it the same way we do it today.
