Triboar

Triboar, nicknamed the Town Where Only Gwaeron Sleeps, is a trading settlement found in the North. It is a lively crossroads town full of the hustle and bustle of roaming merchants, caravaneers and other travelers. Triboar is full of activity all day and night. It is commonly used as a meeting point for a number of armies and militaries that banded together when threats appear in the North.
Geography Triboar is nestled in the Dessarin Valley, where the Evermoor Way intersects the Long Road. As a crossroads town, it is centrally located amidst a number of prominent settlements. Triboar is located east of Phandalin, west of Yartar, north of Westbridge, and north of Red Larch, by way of the Long Road. The landscape surrounding the town is lush and well-suited for farming.
Government The town is ruled by a democratically-elected lord protector. His or her task is to command the town's militia and to settle disputes. The town's legal system is called the "Lord's Decrees". The current lord protector is a Harper by the name of Darathra Shendrel.
Relations Although the rivalry between Triboar and neighboring Yartar is usually friendly, there have been occasions when it erupted into violence over a particular incident. The rivalry began when each town condemned the other for the fate of the Lost Guide, a caravan-driver who disappeared while transporting a shipment of gold between the two settlements. Triboar has good relations with the other city states of the Lords' Alliance and is a prosperous, if small, trade town. It has a protective agreement with nearby Waterdeep to supplement its own defenses.
Triboar is also home to a number of guides, all of whom are knowledgeable about destinations anywhere in the North. Notable guides include Borth Jhandelspar, Ilrin Sharadin, Morth Fartheen and Zandever Eyredanus.
Defenses The town operates a defense force called The Twelve, which consists of many mounted patrols that rotate in a tenday cycle.
