King
King is the title given to a male monarch in a variety of contexts. The term king may also refer to a king consort, a title that is sometimes given to the husband of a ruling queen, but the title of prince consort is sometimes granted instead.
Duties
The roles of a King were to protect the kingdom, increase the wealth and trade of the kingdom, as well as to take care of the poor redistributing the tribute paid as necessary. the role of the king was to own land, lead his country, and people in times of war, and set laws. A king was, essentially, the supreme ruler of his land.
Responsibilities
A king's most important responsibility was to establish order and keep the peace, by force if necessary. This included the duty to fight foreign invaders, keep the nobles from fighting each other when possible, and suppress crime and banditry. The king was responsible for administering justice by resolving disputes between noblemen, appointing officials, and presiding personally over major court cases.
