People who made contact with Shadow beast became extremely ill and died. The mysterious plague is a phenomenon that occurred a few months after the Shadow Beast terrorized Rosenburg in 1715

Victims of this plague include people who fought against the Shadow Beast and defended their home. A few days, weeks, or months later, they became extremely ill and bedridden. They got high fevers and were coughing and vomiting blood, or cough out a mysterious black substance. Many also got black boils. It was similar to the Bubonic plague, only that it didn't affect most of the population, and it wasn't as contagious. If one comes in contact with the black substance they may get extremely ill but will eventually recover while those who fought the Shadow Beast either died or suffered from other long-term medical conditions. These included but are not limited to, Arrhythmia(Irregular heartbeat) malnourishment, loss of appetite, amnesia, chills, anemia, asthma, hallucinations, Seizures, poor vision, and more. They were bedridden for the rest of their life if they survived the plague.
