Session 28

General Summary

Felix leaves his warhammer with Carter's body in the House of the Nine.
Party stays in the Crimson Pony.
Marty buys a load of beer components. LOTS OF JALAPENOS. Starts brewing from the cart.
Lorelei sells a sapphire at Dvargaford Market.
Wisk and Ella buy some potions from Valen's Concoctions.
The party then left Caer Ciafran and headed north, passing first through Ulverston, where they see guards helping to reinforce the town's palisade before heading onto Akehill.
The party arrive at Akehill at around midnight and are turned away at the city gate by a Sentinel. He tells them the gates will open in the morning and to bring money for a day pass. The party head to the nearby tavern / inn The Old Wall and spend the night there. The innkeeper, Wene tries to rip them off offering to get them each a day pass at a 'discounted rate' of 10sp each but the party catch on and leave. Outside they meet a man who mentions that if they're thirsty, there's a nearby well. He introduces himself as Salenn Coel and says he has travelled from the Green Plains Pact. After accepting having his clothes cleaned up by Wisk, heads into the city saying he needs to deliver a message.
Approaching the gate, the party shell out the 5sp each needed for a day pass and head into the city. Talking to the guards on the south gate, they ask about the Halfling Caravan they're looking for but are told none have passed through the south gate but are told that many caravans, travellers and merchants unable to pay their way into the city instead encamp in the ruins of the Ash Keep, north of the city but those that can afford to get in can usually be found in either the encampment near Baird's Amphitheatre or the market by the Western Gate.
Party heads to north gate to check in on Baird's Amphitheatre on their way to Ash Keep. En route, they pass by a young nobleman (claiming to be the son of Senator Llewyn) who is clearly upset, outside of his home complaining about a break-in to the Amber Sentinels. There have been a number of break-ins within the Cobalt Quarter, even a senators house was targeted. The sentinels have coming down pretty hard on the people of Old Westgate in response.
When the party reach the north gate, they talk with a male human member of the Sentinels who says that a caravan matching the description of the one they were hunting passed through saying they were heading south about two days prior - the party queries this as they have just come from the south and did not run into the caravan, the sentinel told them perhaps he was mistaken or maybe they had lied to him and to check in at the other gates. The party ask about the burglaries  to which he replies that they started up shortly after the caravan passed through. The party mention they have information that might be pertinent to the burglaries in the Cobalt Quarter, the guardsman sends a bird to the Amber Keep to request his commanding officer, Captain Cerys Cedweli, come meet with the group. She arrives half an hour later and interviews them, they mention the other instances (in Mosston, Drakestone and Chifwing). She has heard about what happened in Chifwing and promises to write to the people the party mentioned to confirm what the party had said. Properly introduces herself to the party then heads back to the Amber Keep.

The party now head to the west gate. Talk with a human sentinel who tells them a caravan matching their description did head out through the western gate. Total number of people was 10, most were halflings but there were some larger folk with them - around human size. They were led by a halfling called Lambert. They left 2 days prior.
To be certain they don't go running off after the wrong caravan, the party decide to also ask at the East Gate. They talk to a half elven sentinel and asks about the caravan again, she lowers her voice to a hush and says she spotted a small caravan of halflings skirting round the outside of the city after dark, moving from the Ash Keep and down the road towards Brakspring a day and a half ago. With this new information the party decide they need to visit the Ash Keep to get a better idea of who this other caravan was.
