Session 14: Dead men tell no tales Report
General Summary
Coming back into the middle of combat, the situation shifts! The Skeleton Alchemist revealed himself from a secret door! What was a cakewalk has now suddenly a fight for survival as the alchemist rallied the remaining undead. In particular, the alchemist employed an assortment of dirty tricks, from a seemingly unlimited supply of acid vials to a magic stone that allowed a critical hit to Erland's face despite his defenses. It was only with a well timed slow spell did the party overcome ancient skeleton and his minions. From there, they found a veritable trove of magical treasures from what was possible the first alchemist to have transmuted objects into gold!
From there, the party was quick to return to Neverwinter after some shenanigans involving shoving an entire boat into a bag of holding. Eventually, they had to report the contraband they found. it led to a very generous windfall, but the party was summoned to an emergency meeting by the king. Giving the king all the information they knew, they would then learn from the king's spymaster of rumors of a ghost ship that arrives on a Sunday and that day was coming soon. With the information they've gathered, it is likely that this is the smuggler ship and hatch a plan for the party to intercept and find out who they are supplying with weapons.
Afterwards, the party decided to tie up some loose ends. "Why don't we deal with that skull boy base?" the party thinks, "shouldn't be that hard".
It was over in a single battle with the necromancer leader, but it doesn't need to be said how much the party soon regretted their approach.
The deaths of at least 100 civilians are going to weigh heavily on the party.
