Session 4: RICO act Report
General Summary
After a nearly disastrous fight, the party quickly claimed their prize. The impaled redbrand and the servile goblin, known as droop, gave them everything that they needed to know about the redbrands and why they were there. Things quickly went strange at this point, as they would then find Fluffy transformed into Ser Fluffy: a dogman that proclaimed themselves a knight. It would be too much for Tony, who immediately left the scene, and the party wouldn't even have time to contemplate this as they would soon meet his replacement, Catalina .
After some clearing up, they took a rest and examined the source of Fluffy's new body. They discover it is some empowered Vocation Button with a lock mechanism that seals the true magic within. It is exhausted of power for one day, so they resolved instead to ambush the redbrand leader. Turns out, the leader was Iarno Alberk, England's supposedly most trusted advisor. After a swift beheading, the party looted the room, and then proceeded to the prisoner room. After ignoring the skeletons, they convinced the redbrands to leave their post, and saved the prisoners now that the entire hideout was cleared.
Outside, the prisoners told them of Thundertree where they told them of a family heirloom's secret location as a form of repayment for saving them. When they moved into town, however, they realized a large amount of redbrands had been slaughtered, and a large angry mob had formed in the town square. Thanks to a case of ratphilia from their prisoner, it seems the town was outraged enough to rally against the remaining redbrands and 6 plus the prisoner were about to be executed. This would end up being prevented by Halia Thornton, who seemed to have convinced the mayor to instead allow her to drive the bandits into prison labor at the mines.
The crowd would leave with a grumble, so the party finished off their day collected their various rewards. Erland and Lucan would retire at the inn after ordering everyone a beer, and Catalina would take up Quelline's original offer of a bed.
