Vocation Button

A relatively common item, An modest organization or even a relatively prosperous village could afford one of these gadgets. With a single push, the button creates a personalized magic item that will aid the user in their labors. Of course, the cheap nature of these devices means that they can usually only fire once a day. Many times when a village acquires one of these buttons, they'll establish a calender of who pushes the button on what day. Many a scuffle was had when neighbors turn enemies over stolen turns.

Destiny Button

While rumors have always existed, the party has discovered a unique variant of these buttons known as a "Destiny Button". While a standard button only makes a minor item that makes it easier to utilize their existing talent, Destiny buttons provide a much more powerful magic item that allow someone to follow their dreams. In most cases, the item will compensate for all flaws that prevent the user from doing so, although already gifted individuals may end up with a sort of vocation+ item in a sense.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

While the construction is extremely simple, literally an arcanite crystal encased in a box and a spring button, the instructions imprinted are sufficiently complex enough to prevent these devices from being so prevalent that even a beggar could own one.


A Destiny button uses a much higher quality crystal, usually better housing materials, and requires instructions complex enough that a requires a well experienced Arcane Writer to program.

Significance

This item defines the Age of Magic, as even a peasant could benefit from the power of Arcanite thanks to these buttons.
