When the denizens of a forgotten city in the Steppe abandoned their homes to the Horde, a lone egg was left behind. After victory was claimed, the summer heat encouraged a fledgling Cyrox to hatch. The first cries that Overlord Zygat heard was his own roar of a laugh being yelled back to him by the little hatchling. Intrigued by the possibilities of this, Zygat raised Cyrox to be his own son. As a young boy, Cyrox found no talent in combat, however with the endless support of his father, he found an outlet for his top skills- speech craft and illusion. Cyrox is able to copy any voice or sound he has heard before, as well as create shadowy illusions of himself over great distances. Using these techniques, he launched his own initiatives for the Horde such as developing propaganda campaigns to soften enemy garrisons before raids and creating fake prophecies to cause strategic resources to open. After his first negotiated full surrender without any bloodshed, the Horde commanders requested Zygat that Cyrox be promoted to Speaker of the Horde. As a Kenku, Cyrox speaks with both the literal authority and the literal voice of Zygat when negotiating on the Horde's behalf.
