Nuumäen: A Stone-Clad Haven

Nuumäen, nestled in the foothills of the majestic mountains in Luingern Province, stands as a testament to the resilience of an ancient settlement. Time seems to slow down, and the echo of history reverberates through its cobblestone streets.

Rarely is any chinking used, and then usually for the barns that must shield the animals from fierce storms that occasionally blow through the valley. Mixed in with the mud chinking is cast-off sheep goat, and horse hair, as well as dried native grasses for both stability and insulative value. Homes are also sealed with this chinking. Cobblestone streets wind through the settlement, leading to various structures that have weathered the passage of time.
The town's centerpiece is the Council Hall, a grand stone edifice where the town council convenes to discuss matters of governance. The council is comprised of wise elders, skilled artisans, and respected community leaders, ensuring that decisions are made for the collective well-being of the town.

Near the inn is a market square where townsfolk set out their wares, handcrafted goods, and foodstuff. If one is lucky, you might also find chickens or geese for sale.

Known for her expertise in breeding the sturdiest and most reliable horses in the region, Eilin has become a respected figure in Nuumäen. Some of the most sought-after traders in Uclandia plan their excursions so that they too can attend the Midsummer Festival. Some craftsmen, such as woodworkers and stone carvers, store their creations all year and show off their wares during the Midsummer Market. Rarely does anyone go home disappointed.
