Prophecy Fulfilled: Game 17

General Summary

The Company of the Furies: Eumenides won. After 16 sessions, the Company achieved their ultimate goal of defeating the forces of evil. The Company has rescued towns (Sentinel Fortress, Julkoun and Kidwell), nobility (Lord Raymond Ilios, Marquess of the Reaches and Lord of Sentinel Fortress and fair maidens (Lady Eva Ilios), prevented an invasion of fire giants and orcs, stopped the return of the second The Rise of the Undead, killed the one of the most powerful dragons and liches in the history of Fultar (Calastryx and Yarlzedd), and generally thwarted the efforts of the Order of the Necromantia. And this is only the beginning.

Drow Guards

The passage from the magical teleportation room lead to a huge cavern and a secondary passage further underground. The cavern was lit up in a reddish light by the bubbling, steaming river of molten lava which flows through the cavern. The cavern stunk of sulfur and heated rock, and, per the description in the module, "the temperature there is very hot, although there is a strong draft cools it somewhat. The roof is no less than 60' high." There is a secluded section of the cavern in which a group of drow were guarding the passage over the lava river. The Company successfully negotiated passage over the river pretending to be necromancers, with the new member Basillea playing a leading role in the deception. The Company was allowed to pass over a rope bridge that was suspended about 15' above the lava river.

Death of the Necromancer and Ancient Two Headed Black Dragon

The Company traveled through underground, heated rocks, fought ghouls, and eventually opened two large doors to gain entrance to a room filled with lava and Yarlzedd and Calastryx. The Company was able to surprise them both, immediately slew the Black Dragon and only allowed the Necromancer one attack before he was slain by Etienne. Having fulfilled the prophecy, and also impregnated the succubus Pencheska Natyssa and ensuring the continuation of his line and the potential fulfillment of a second prophecy that will bring the second coming of the rise of the undead, Etienne appears to have been slain by Yarlzedd in one last parting shot which causes Etienne to fall into the fiery stream of lava.
