Rally Day
Rally Day is a celebration held every ten years in honor of the founding of Alshar. During this time, Alshari children dress up like kings and queens and ride through town on decorated horses. These riders then give gifts to the poor and needy. In return, the townsfolk offer them food and drink. This tradition dates back hundreds of years, when the first settlers came to Alshar.
Today, rally day is celebrated in all of Alshar's cities. Children gather at the city gates to await the arrival of the royal family. When the king arrives, the children cheer and throw flowers at him. Then, the king rides through the streets and gives presents to the children. Afterward, the children celebrate with music and dancing.
