Thassaism
The Church of Thassaism is a loosely structured, organizated religion that thrives particularly in the Glittering Wastes
Thassism is the main religion of the Roachim Nomads and, although other relgions are tolerated by the free-spirited Thassaists, they are viewed at best as absurdities, and at worst as strictures which take away from the freedoms of the Roachim culture, and those closest to them.
Structure
Thassaism has an incredibly flat heirarchy. It's believed that Sky (male) and Earth (female) are the main deities, whilst air (brother to the Thassists) and water (sister to the Thassists) are child-deities, because of their unpredictable flowing nature. This idea is only strengthened by the fact that oases in the Glittering Wastes are very irregular, often appearing for weeks and months before disappearing once again.
Beneath the gods themselves, whose domain extends only as far as the borders of the glitteirng wastes, are the leaders of Thassaism, known as the Wanderers.
Any species and any age can become a wander, and they are particularly recognisable from their clothes. They are largely sunburned from their extended hours in the sun, and they almost always wear a crown of wrinkled Dewberries on their heads. These dewberries give them the divine hallucinations through which the gods speak to them.
Culture
Thassists believe in the ultimate free will to follow where the gods are leading them. Through this, they believe, they will achieve oneness with the desert, and immortality. The air that hums at midday is considered to be the song of the ancestors which followed the will of deities, and it is this that Thassists mimic as they meditate (with or without the assistance of Dewberries).
