Fang Fort
Positioned at the entrance to the Fang pass through the Rivellian mountains. Serving as a defensive fortification against the Kingdom of Basq. It was built as hostilities between the two kingdoms started to increase in around 200 blood.
The fort is a large square castle built on a ledge overlooking the pass, a large wall ran down from this keep across the pass with a large gatehouse in the center. A second gatehouse is built between the ledge edge and the mountain, protecting the road to the castle. A single tower is built higher up with a view of the whole pass, including the Basq fortress on the other side.
Trial by blood and histoy
As hostilities broke out between Riveel and Basq, the Fang fort was the first point of attack. Repulsing several attacks, Fang fort became a staging point for future attacks on Basq. The fort stood vigil after the war, warning of several rebellions, and even crushed a roving horde that came from the east. Mostly it was used as an administrative center for the area around the mountain.Destruction
During the Revillian civil war, Fang fort once again found itself the site of the opening battle, easily driving back the attackers. This would be the last withstood attack however as Basq forces had been dropped off with two carts full of barrels loaded with Gdobble oil, on the Rivellian side of the mountain. Twenty-eight days after the first attack a second commenced with a smaller force. The main point of the attack was to give time for the carts to be brought up and destroy the fort. The carts were both placed where the wall meets the cliff edge and were then detonated, not by the Basq forces escorting them as they were already dead but by accident by a Rivellian archer trying to kill a shadow he thought was a soldier. The destruction was total with only the lower quarter of the watch tower still standing, the ledge had collapsed and the fort, wall, and both armies were scattered over a ten-mile radius. Fang pass was sealed by rock slides and Basq itself suffered damage.
