Grim Tribe

One of The Frozen Forest tribes, the Grimm tribe is known as boogymen and shadows by other tribes of the area. Though few of its members are seen in Undinia, a few examples are known, and the tribe is known to have answered the call of a true shifter war chief. The tribe as a whole is shrouded in mystery, with even other shifters knowing only the basic information.

Origins

The Grimm tribe's origins aren't exactly known due to the lack of shifter written records, however, several legends exist. The first links its origin to the splitting of the old forest tribe. Legend states when the shifter peoples split after the slave revolts a large group moved into the forest, known as the forest clan it found itself too large to survive in the forest as a single group. As the tribe scattered, one traveled east into the deep forest, this became the Grim tribe. Several problems arrive from this story, however, firstly it is popular among the more Western tribes, especially the ones near the frozen forest, though those who claim descent from this forest tribe don't believe this. Also, the few members of the tribe that speak of it seem to have a deep respect for the great warriors of the past of all tribes, not just their own.   The second legend comes from the Goregrinder's and other heavy military tribes. This story states that during the slave revolts, The Dread tiger, in the Shifter's hour of need morphed animals into men, sending them forth as a scourge on its people's enemies. Once the war ended these Beastmen retreated back into the forest, only to reappear when needed. While it's hard to tell if the tribe has a higher preditor composition like other military tribes, though seeing as other forest tribes do it would make sense, it should be noted every member who has identified themselves as a Grim is the more bestial type of shifter.   The third legend comes from the forest tribes themselves. This legend shares some similarities with the Goregrinder's, with some key differences. While it is said the beastmen came from the east, tribe Grim was sent to harry and torment the forest tribe that ravaged the Dread Tigers' home, forcing it to split into smaller tribes. They return in the winter to punish those tribes who abused the forest too much. While the specifics are disputed, once again the seemingly large quantity of bestial shifters from the tribe and reports of winter attacks on other tribes give it some credence, once you remove the supernatural elements.   The final legend actually has some recorded history backing it up, coming from not only the Crystalline tribe but also Sepa academy as well. This legend states that the original Grim Tribe members made up Saberfang's honor guard. After Saberfang's death, his surviving honor guard took his body and traveled to the rumored location of the Dread Tiger, seemingly disappearing from the world. They reportedly showed up a few decades later, demanding the Forest tribe splinter. This story not only has a historical record backing it up but also fits the second and third legends to a degree, Not only that but the unknown location of Saberfang's grave gives more credence to the myth.

Migration

While the tribe seems to spend its summer deep within the Frozen forest, it seems to travel into the rest of the forest during winter. While most of the time, the tribe stays away from the other tribal villages, they do raid particular destructive tribes that summer. It should be noted in times of great importance a shaman will appear at Sepa Acadamy.
