Sala
Sala
A reformed member of the Cult of Serpents, Sala was revered due to his half-Naga heritage. He became a full-time adventurer after a fateful encounter.
Cult of Serpents
Born to the Naga high priest of the cult and one of the Human faithful, Sala was immediately recognized and marked as special due to his heritage, being born with patches of scales over his body. Sala was brought up wanting for nothing, the majority of the cult being at his every beck and call during his youth. In his teens, he was expected by the Naga of the cult to take part in their sacrifices, including raiding ships for said sacrifices. Not knowing any differently he took some relish in being able to slip on a boat and take out several guards before the alarm was sounded. These raids however had not gone unnoticed by merchants of the Gem Sea.Fateful encounter
On a raid at the age of nineteen, Sala saw the perfect sacrifice, a dark-haired young beauty, who wore a spear glowing with light amulet. He grabbed and started to bind her, only for her to quite literally slip out of his grasp, draw a spear, and fling him across the deck with it. She led the crew to dispatch the remaining Naga and took Sala prisoner. Able to persuade one of the guards to let him out, Sala escaped, ending up in Voidcape, where he took on odd jobs. The Sunkan Temple
In 612 Blood Sala was hired onto an expedition to find a lost Naga temple in the Mire, his experience with the cult making him an invaluable guide. The expedition went badly, however, with the majority of it dying with only Sala And Hense Twomane surviving. Sala did come back with a glowing spear, suspected to be the Sun Spear, that seemed to burn his hands when used, and a dependency on Hense similar to that of a dependence on a cult.
