Voidcape
Known as the end of the world, Voidcape is said to be the furthest reach civilization without 'leaving it'. In truth, if you are in Voidcape, you've already left the civilized world behind. The last stop for adventurers, treasure hunters, and archeologists as they venter into the Mire of lost souls, Voidcape is the bare minimum requirement needed to be called a town. Though no official trade passes through it has a thriving black market, which sustains the town, as well as a small fishing economy.
History
Early History
First landed in 90 Blood as a base camp for an archeological expedition into the Mire of lost souls, Voidcape was originally nothing more than a moored ship and a few tents on a sand bank. This was rediscovered in 102 blood by the pirate Smallhands. He turned the large galley moored up into a storehouse and built a dock area for his fleet. This formed the first bases of the permanent settlement and it would remain a pirate base for Smallhands till his death in 129 Blood. In the years that followed several expeditions had paid to use the small settlement as a launch base. This had been profitable for the crews who broke down one of the ships to the Plunderer's rest inn.Birth of Voidcape
One of the expeditions in 638 Blood that left was led by a blue Kobold, looking for some ancient power, came back a year later with undead claiming to have had a vision that he was the rightful owner of the swamp. His skin had been corrupted by Voidstone. Taking the town and renaming himself The Void lord, he erected a tower, made of Voidstone overlooking the town. It was during this period a more permanent population of swamp and sea dwellers moved into the town. This was also when it started to be called Cape of the Void Lord, shortened to Voidcape. The town lost prosperity during this time due to the Void lord's policy of the swamp being his.The Ghost ship to the Fey age
In 770 Blood Voidcape was enveloped by a thick fog as a Serpent Class with advanced technology attacked, ruining the tower, and its crew looted it. A Lizardman Sharman from the population took over and returned the settlement to a launching post. Accepting all comers and trading with anyone, the old storehouse ship was turned into a trade house where any merchant could set up and sell his goods. This became popular for those looking to make backroom deals without scrutiny. the Market expanded around the ship into a handful of permanent shops. Voidcape has remained like this till the early fey.Destruction
Voidcape truly entered the world stage early in the Fey age. First, the reappearance of Metis and Siren's Doom led to the discovery of The Phervian Library just west of the town. The arrival of a small group of Dragonborn in 122 Fey passing through to the mire healded its doom as shortly after a large influx of refugees talked of an undead dragon wiping out all life. This was followed by the arrival of Jindrai and his army. That Battle of Voidcape saw the town's near complete destruction by Zezhuanth, only leaving a mostly ruined tower, even the swamp was driven back leaving just scarred bedrock.Areas
