Magisteria
The Magisteria is the home of the Magisterium, the highest level of government in the United Britannia and Hibernia. It is located in Ilyrium's Imperium district, and is next to the Council building and the Athenaeum.
Purpose / Function
Besides being home to the Magisterium, the Magisteria is where legal trials, Exams and Promotions, voting, and graduations occur. It is meant to be a place of privilege, and only those events are allowed in the building. Trials, voting, and graduations are public events; exams and promotions are private. Perhaps the biggest turn-out at the Magisteria is for graduations from the Institute, and some criminal trials are a close second.
Architecture
The Magisteria was first built in 70 CE; however, it was rehauled into its current form in the 1950s. It is a triangular, multi-story building with an immense amount of windows that can be looked out, but not looked in. The interior of the Magisteria is minimalist; there is little decoration except for paintings of UBH and its people. It is guarded by an immense amount of security witches.
History
The Magisteria was built in 70 CE and has been the center of Ilyrium since then.
