Personal history
Ever since he was young, he knew that there were things in this world that he could see that others could not. His first experience with this was when he spoke with the fairies in the backyard and his mother told him that they were just visual tricks of the setting sun. As he got older, he begun to seek out these oddities and the strangeness that was hiding behind the every day things of the world. This lead him to integrating the with the Shadow Kind from a really young age. Because he sought them out and was aware of what they were, they assumed that he was one of the Shadow Kind humans. This behavior, of course, led to him getting the attention to the Shadow Investigation Unit and being recruited for his ability to clearly see the Shadow Kind and for his familiarity with them.
