Session 42 Planning

Session starts on the afternoon of Saturday, December 3, 2146 with the party shopping for magical items. Which will conclude their 4 weeks of downtime they were using to prepare. After the shopping concludes, the time line will move to Tuesday, January 3, 2147

Getting into the Hard Drive

During a previous session, the team took a hard drive from a computer that they are going to try to gain access to. Will give Seardon time to pursue this issue and contact resources that might be able to assist him with the problem. It will take in game time for him to get additional information regarding this hard drive.

The Hard Drive

The hard drive in question was stolen from a remote research lab run by Ebonie. There is nothing of value on this hard drive as it was taken from a dumb terminal. Essentially an input/output (I/O) device with no internal processing power, a dumb terminal is a simple input-output device comprising a keyboard, monitor, network interface, and buffer memory that has only enough intelligence to respond to simple control codes from a computer. Nothing was saved locally on this computer. These dumb terminals use key rotation with an automated system that changes the key after each use. This limits their ability to connect to the server. Additionally, the network rotates which server the dumb terminal is assigned to use with each session. The user is required to use an authenticator when connecting to the network. This is all managed by CyberArk which is a group of AI that work for Draco Industries to ensure their cyber security.

Kimberly's Research

The players asked Kimberly to research for them. They asked her to look into the Draco Estate and into Franz Draco himself. This is the information that she is able to find for them at the end of the down time (on Jan 2nd).
What she can tell them about the Estate:

1. She is able to find them a basic map of the estate and this should be given to the party as a handout.
2. She is also able to warn them that there is a camera security system on the property that is pretty advanced, but is vulnerable to wireless attack if they bring the means with them.
3. She is not able to find any information regarding the Draco Elite Team other then what she has already told them (they are selected from the Shadow Investigation Unit)
4. She can also tell them that there are rumors that the Draco Mansion Estate employs robots for its defense, but she isn't able to give them any concrete information regarding this either.

She can tell them anything on Franz Draco's page other then the fact that he is a half dragon. This she can only give to them as a rumor of his family believing that he has Dragon Blood.
She is also able to provide them with the information on the Draco Family page, again other then the fact that they have dragon heritage. This she can only give as a rumor of their family beliefs.
She can tell the players about the rumors and stories regarding the choosing of Franz Draco rather then Kevin Draco for CEO of Seattle. 

1. It is said that the first son of the primary line declined to be considered for the CEO position. 
2. It was a sandal to consider, let alone choose, a bastard rather then someone of "proper" family decent. Franz is generally considered to be of a secondary family line because he is the second born son of a first born son within the primary family line. However, being a bastard would normally exclude him from this consideration. 
3. It is said that Kevin was going to be the CEO as he is of a Tertiary family line (he was born the first son from the daughter of a first born son in the primary line).   
4. Kevin was passed over in favor of Franz for two reasons (according to the rumors): The first being that Franz far out classed Kevin in the arena of business and the second being that Franz presents with more traits that are considered to be from the Dragon blood line.
5. Franz gave Kevin a position on the Draco Board once a position became available as a means of neutralizing the threat that he presented.
6. Franz does not have any children and because of this, Kevin would become the next CEO if Franz were to die.
7. It is not clear of Kevin is aware of the Shadow Kind and thus him taking over the city would largely be an unknown style of leadership towards the Shadow Kind.
