Puimohanga

The Builder of Islands

One of the more benevolent kaiju, Puimohanga is unique in that she prefers to build and create as opposed to destroy. She is responsible for the construction of many of the islands that make up the Kanoloa Archipelago and takes great pride in her work. Puimohanga is keenly conscious of her great size and is actively aware of the smaller creatures in the world around her. She treads with caution and tries to avoid accidentally harming or destroying creatures and their structures if possible. Puimohanga loves trying to build sprawling reefs, caves, and other habitats for wildlife and creates the islands so that those above the water can explore and seek shelter on them. She also been known to come to the aid of creatures should she believe they are being unjustly attacked or preyed upon unfairly.   Puimohanga is a massive creature that combines the features of various crustaceans and an active volcano. Her crab-like body sports two massive pincers and beneath each pincer are two arm-like appendages that end in four-clawed hands. She rarely uses these four smaller arms for combat but instead to aid in building that requires finer manipulation than what her pincers would allow for. Her body is supported by ten crab-like legs that give her great mobility both in the sea and on land. Her great crustacean carapace is super heated and constantly oozes a magma like substance. This magma secretion then hardens when it comes into contact with ocean waters and has created craggy mountainous formations that appear similar to igneous rock and act like an added layer of armor. Puimohango has been known to collect and use some of this magma secretion or even sections of the rock formations on her back to aid in her building projects.   Worshippers of Puimohanga consist mostly of the inhabitants of the Kanoloa Archipelago, both humanoid and non-humanoid. Other worshippers could include people who appreciate marine biology or the constructive and life-giving combination of water and fire. Her followers believe in supporting each other and the natural world by building homes and habitats that don't necessarily harm the environment but harmonize and blend with it. While predation is part of the natural order they prefer to only take what they need to survive and do so without cruelty.   Places dedicated to the worship of Puimohanga are often either quite simple structures that incorporate the natural environment. The few elaborate structures tend to take into consideration the impact it will have on the environment and are often built to be able to provide something back. This can include anything from fisheries, farms that freely allow wildlife to partake in the crop, and habitats built to allow creatures to nest and rest in safely.
