Yndrasa
Goddess of Justice and Good Dragons
As one of the three goddesses of dragonkind, Yndrasa is a powerful and influential deity. She is seen as the goddess of all good-aligned dragons as well as the goddess of justice. Yndrasa strives to protect the weak and to make evil beings face the consequences of their actions. A mighty ally and fearsome adversary, Yndrasa commands tremendous respect amongst the gods. She is regal, wise, and kind, which many believe are the primary characteristics of goodly dragons. Yndrasa is typically depicted as an enormous yet graceful and elegant dragon with platinum scales. Her eyes are usually made to appear like pools of molten gold.
Yndrasa is one of the three draconic children of the first dragon goddess, Pemgirvei. Yndrasa and Pemgirvei had a close bond and shared many of the same ideals and philosophies. It was this bond that caused Yndrasa's sister, Gorlithe, to murder their mother in a fit of jealous rage. Yndrasa and Gorlithe had never seen eye to eye before that point, but it wasn't until the murder of Pemgirvei that Yndrasa truly realized the extent of Gorlithe's evil nature. Any sisterly love Yndrasa once held for Gorlithe has since vanished; she seeks only to bring her sister to justice for the murder of their mother. Yndrasa has attempted to convince her other sister, Zharsteri, to side with her against Gorlithe. However, Zharsteri fled to the stars and the void between them rather than choose a side.
Many believe that because of the war between Yndrasa and Gorlithe, most metallic and chromatic dragons despise each other. Both goddesses have gained the support of various other deities in their conflict against each other, but there has not been a physical confrontation between them for several hundred years. Instead, the two of them continue to gather supporters and work to subvert each other. Yndrasa believes that bringing Gorlithe to justice will bring Zharsteri back from her sojourn into the stars and, together, the two of them could redeem dragonkind.
Yndrasa's worshippers include good-aligned dragons and those who revere the virtues of dragonkind. Many who have been wronged will also offer up prayers to Yndrasa to receive justice for what was done to them, especially if the perpetrator was an evil dragon. Yndrasa's draconic worshippers are protectors of the weak, keepers of the peace, and deliverers of justice who seek to lead by example and demonstrate that not all dragons are evil. Her non-draconic worshippers are much the same and attempt to emulate the best qualities of good dragons. Many of her non-draconic worshippers will seek out good-aligned dragons to pledge their services.
Places dedicated to the worship of Yndrasa are not common, most of which are shrines or altars within other temples or churches. Many of her places of worship are incorporated into the lairs of good-aligned dragons. Some build churches or temples of Yndrasa specifically to attract the attention of young good-aligned dragons who have recently left their nests to find their own lairs. These churches then become the start of the dragon's lair as it expands and builds upon the lair as time and its growing size demand. This serves to both help young dragons establish their first lair and protect them from evil dragons who might seek to slay any rivals before they have a chance to grow into a threat.
