Queen Ptanna ([ɛp'tænə])
Queen of Dunsland. Istabi nobility. Botany enthusiast.
Her Highness Ptanna Regnar- Tdnoukouta, the Serenity of the Waters
"They've never quite forgiven themselves for the time I caught a would-be assassin myself.""My family would not have wanted a weak daughter. Not even one to be married off."
Ptanna Regnar is the queen consort of Dunsland and a minor noble of Istabi. She was married in 792AA, after meeting the king of Dunsland, Justinian, the year prior. They now have two daughters - Esme and Cassie.
A strong-willed individual, Ptanna enjoys both state functions and her solitude. Much of the northernmost tower of Dun Castle is laid out for her hobbies and interests, which include astronomy, alchemy and history. She regularly takes her dinner in these chambers and often does not reappear until the following morning. There is also a sizeable, glass-roofed hothouse adjoining the main courtyard - a personal garden home to many rare plants, many with magical properties.
The specifics are uncertain, but it is known that Queen Ptanna has some degree of martial training. She usually has an ornate knife hidden in her clothing and has proven that she can be a fierce unarmed combatant when required in moments of self defense.
Always on her person is a bejewelled, gourd shaped bottle filled with sand sourced from her homeland.
Relationships
History
Justinian and Ptanna met each other during a ceremonial feast in Alemata, a town upriver from that capital city of Istabi, Jewel. The king was there as part of a multi-month diplomatic liason with several locations in Geganna. Ptanna had joined as one of many guests. The pair spent a portion of the afternoon together and resolved to organise a meeting at a later date.
They were married a little less than a year later; Ptanna moving to Dun permanently with little expectation of returning home.
