Brecilien
The aristocracy of Helveylyn are the sophisticated and refined Veylish, primarily surrounding the eternal courtly intrigues of the elves. Veylish culture prizes art and refinement above all things. They also paradoxically have one of the most stratified societies while also prizing personal liberty and freedom as their main ideal, though that is primarily only enjoyed by the nearly ageless nobility. The elves that founded Helveylyn wished to break away from the standoffish and imperious nature of their Palladian cousins, and tend to be fascinated with other cultures, though it can seem half-serious, like they are on perpetual holiday. Veylish are the fairest of all Talireans as a rule. Arcane magic is held in very high regard. Veylish prize romance, liberty, and poetry. The Veylish are somewhat ambivalent towards the Axiomatic Church but pay their respects to it and enjoy the intrigues within it, as well as its cultural impact, especially through St. Ennoia.
- Ancestry: Dominated by a powerful elvish minority, with quicklings, gnomes, and dwarves filling in the rest.
- Starting Languages: Low Talirean, Veylish
- Myrcian Weapons: estoc (rapier with the Two Handed 1d10 trait), longbow, glaive, shortbow, longsword. The Veylish invented the estoc as a way to handle the heavy armored plate of the current age, while they mix the traditional elvish chivalric longsword with Cradish archery as well as the beautiful deadly curves of the glaive, which they especially prefer when mounted.
