Sarumite
Myrcian culture has risen to great heights due to the rise of the Holy Lawful Empire. They are aligned most with martial and chivalric virtues, being a cross between Anglo-Saxon and Arthurian Mythos influences. They tend to be fair of features due to both a Vendalic heritage through King Roak as well as intermingling with the Veylish. Myrcians tend to be somewhat suspicious of magic after so much of their history being determined by druids and wizards, who competed with each other through their turbulent history over the destiny of their people, and thus today prefer martial power. Myrcians prize courage, loyalty, and songs. Myrcians are devoted followers of the Axiomatic Church, and believe St. Idrian to be their patron. The rural fringes are still influenced by pagan traditions, though far less so than their cousins the Cradish.
- Ancestry: Myrcia is perhaps the realm most dominated by quicklings. Once it had many ogres as well, compared to the other realms. Dwarves helped colonize the Rivals, while elves intermingled with the aristocracy. The halflings of Myrcia are perhaps the most distinct subculture in their shires, who are now being harried by migratory goblin tribes.
- Starting Languages: Low Talirean, Myrcian
- Myrcian Weapons: bastard sword, lance, quarterstaff (bo staff), poleaxe (as glaive but instead of Reach it has Versatile P/B), club. The bastard sword was made famous by King Roak and inherited from the Vendals, and Myrcian combatants are all about versatility still honoring the chivalric traditions inherited from the elves. Quarterstaff duels are common among the nobility, since lethal duels are banned, while their equestrian tradition keeps them busy with the lance.
