Psychological Profile

Although Banks is not actively producing music, music is still an intregal part of his life. He often listens to tracks he is developing during his shift he has provided drum tracks for several other musically inclined crew members. Banks seems very focused on his medical career at the moment and shows little interest in going back into music. When confronted by fans he gets rather shy.
NOTE: Banks is the inventor of the "double Banks" style which is operates in double time but with a lighter touch likened to rhythmic raindrops.

Biographical Overview

Banks was born on Earth in 2350 into a family of logistics and suppliers who coordinated resource movements all across the Federation. His parents were supportive of his interests as a child and he ended up gravitating towards playing the drums. By 2356 he was recognized as a musical prodigy when it came to percussion and in 2362 he received an offer to join a youth band, The Argon Society. Argon Society erupted in popularity over the next few years and by 2367 they were doing tours across the quadrant. In 2368 it was discovered that their band leader and organizer had deep ties within the Orion Syndicate and had been secretly supplying the band members with stimulants in order for them to keep up with the aggressive touring schedule their mannager had set for them. Two of the band members overdosed the same night and one of them died. The band quickly dissolved in light of this tragedy and Banks returned home where he spent the next couple of years completing his primary education and performing recorded tracks for other artists. In 2370 he applied for Starfleet Academy and passed the medical entrance exams. He took on a very aggressive class structure and graduated in 2372 with his nursing degree on the path towards becoming a full medical doctor. His first assignment was on the USS Bomaderry, a medical transport that in 2373 was converted to a troop transport with the outbreak of the Dominion War.
A few months after the start of the war the Federation attempted an assault on a Jem'Hadar stronghold and the Bomaderry lost its escorts and was heavily damaged in the fighting. It was able to make it back to a Federation starbase but was decomissioned as the damaged was too extensive. Banks was re-assigned to the USS Orpheus.
