Hill Dwarf

Deep under the rolling hills of Catholonika, inhabiting the cliffsides at Redcliff, and even burrowing their way to Metzono, the popular Hill Dwarves reign supreme. Generally warm towards outsiders, though still holding reservations, these jovial people do not lose their intuition and keen skills of perception. Behind the twinkling, smiling eyes are cautious and courageous blades ready to fight. Often called "Shallow Dwarves" by their Mountain Dwarf cousins, these dwarves do indeed dwell deeply. The only difference is these prefer the shallow hills rather than the steep, unforgiving mountains. Despite the brotherly irking, they do see eye to eye on almost every issue and concern.   Just as their mountain cousins, the hill dwarves are deeply religious with an emphasis on ancestral reverence. Temples to Kord and Moradin are staple from capitals to lesser towns. every caravan has the anvil of Moradin or the two-headed battleaxe of Kord. The hill dwarves are not so lofty with their carvings and statues as their mountain counterparts: indeed they prefer the smaller, more realistically sized statues to the brutally sized towers found in Mil Bazon.
