Sham'arine Zaladar
Sham'arine Zaladar lived when the Daegian continents were connected in some way. Travel and trade flowed freely between the prosperous and rich coasts. During the height of the Fourth Era, the Era of Humanity, the resources flowed like a split wineskin between the ports of Iron Quay of Enor Daeg, Shi'Quolin of Sefir Daeg, and Abadan Delta of Belor Daeg. These three ports provided substantial traffic to the sea and pirates abounded. These pirates would take their treasure back to their coves and dens, and eventually they would make their way back to the sea.
Zaladar's youth was during this prosperous and turbulent time. She rose to the station of priestess in her local county, and wrote and translated the ancient texts of Pelor to easily readable pamphlets. These pamphlets met staunch criticism from her county, who thought rewriting the words and teaching would dilute it. Zaladar continued anyway. These pamphlets easily traveled around the subcontinent, and eventually made their way to Abadan Delta. Here, they went forth onto ships to all ports, were plundered by pirates, and found their way to Iron Quay and then Hlee where it caused a resurgence of worship.
She went on to travel the seas, stopping at the flourishing ports to give sermons atop her humble ship she made herself. With Pelor's aid, she taught, she gathered the strength and knowledge to build the vessel and wanted for nothing. A spiritual liberation flamed up in these ports, and the name of Pelor became closely related to humans. For the most part, the congregates respectfully replaced statues, though some zealots took to crusading in Pelor's name. Sadly, though, these zealots fell to machinations of Tharizdun.
Zaladar spent forty years traveling on the seas, never once being raided by pirates or turned away by a port. She visited the lowest of hamlets to the largest of seawalled cities. No place was too humble for her. She spent the last of her days back home on the Sarapride Coast, still taking meals to the hungry and poor to her dying day. Once criticized but now heralded, Zaladar's patience and determination inspired priests and clergy among not just Pelor's faithful, but all good aligned faithful.
