Before Panic

The time known as Before Panic begins with the founding of the Alliance of Kingdoms that united several disperate Human Kingdoms under the new Human Empire. Over this period The Empire grew to overtake much of the South Eastern and North Eastern shore of the Vaelesian Sea.

The Era of Panic was marked by the destruction of the capital city of The Empire by dark magical forces and Undying Conquests. The Era is marred by a three decades long war with the @UndyingKing and his forces. After the war followed a age of moral panic surrounding magic and it's uses. This lead to a decline in the prosperity and intellect of the Human Empire. The empire slide into oligarchy and authoritarianism with a single bloodline throne at its core. During this age, magic was taboo and public use of it would often result in the wielders untimely demise at the hands of Empire Soldiers. During this era much of the literature and documentation before panic was lost due to fanatical burnings of libraries and archives which featured magical texts. Though some remnants survived, much is still lost.

The Era After Panic was marked by the consolidation of several Elven clans into the Elven Dominion and the people's revolution of the Human Empire which saw the single bloodline monarchy replaced by an elected Parliament lead by a single Prime Minister. The convalescence of these two landmarks ushered in a new era of prosperity in Vael. Shortly after these the treaty of Qrando was signed which saw peace upheld between the Elven Dominion and the Human Empire. The peace has lasted a thousand years and as a result trade and intellect has prospered in the region.

Diplomatic actionThe Treaty of Qrando was signed by Twelve Dignitaries from the Elven Dominion and the Human Empire's Parliament. The document established long lasting peace between the two states.

The Great Scourge
Civil actionThe taming of the Vaelesian Sea is known as the Great Scourge. Monsters were driven from the Sea into the Unbroken Ocean and pirates were capture, killed and prosecuted. Great defences and barriers were erected at the mouth to the Vaelesian Sea to keep the monsters out and constant patrols from both the Human Empire and the Elven Dominion.
