Khadhra
Session 24: Theories of Violence
Khadhra owns a flat in a high-income region, but she opts to stay with the group at a 5-floor tavern she secured for them. Laela, Tia, and Argyris stir her curiosity; and in so far as Ris is concerned, he smells different from the other god-followers. He doesn't quite give the sense that he is an Olris follower. She keeps note of this in the back of her mind as the group grabs some grub and discusses the competition. Through this talk, Khadhra learns:
1. Draqull is, in fact, not a Kobold. He is a Dragonborn.
2. Draqull tried to get some with Laela, therefore leading him to Vaeruin. He didn't get it. Khadhra finesses a drink out of him.
3. Babies (Tia's) first sip of alcohol, the Tootie Explosion, happens as a result of peer pressure. What even is a toast?
Ris returns to the group with news of a letter he received from his informant. He has learned more regarding the burning of Bear Bear's bar and insists that they find a more private space to discuss his findings. As the group readies themselves to leave for their private quarters, Laela is ushered aside by a follower of Azazel. Everyone keeps tab on the conversation but no one approaches. Following receipt of a room number, the group convenes in their room and Ris shares the content of his findings. Khadhra learns:
1. "My Lord, the information on Pyersom, Lord Of The Red has turned up interesting. Attached is proof. Prior to your run in at Trillium Company, he worked many jobs as a bouncer and even a professional guard in Falsehold with connections to the Rhadamanthus Coliseum. Though, just a guard of the people to ensure no creatures or beasts escaped and ran havoc in the trade center and not in the fighting ring itself. He has a family in Ofrary; a late wife and a living son. He is a Vaeruin native.
For most of his professional life, he managed the now-burned warehouse. The items smuggled ranged widely, but it seems he was mostly a grunt supervisor-type largely uninformed.
He has connections in Atrary, where Trillium met up with a small delivery service called Coldwatch Crew that would sort and bring the goods into Atrary from the large port outside of Moorland. Notes we found in his home correspondence concerning recent upcoming travel were addressed from "Rabbit Slayer".
2. Ris goes by the Silvered Glacier and from what she knows, he is a hardened person with an unkind reputation - fond of fingers and nails as forms of torture.
When the conversation ends, Laela goes to meet the guy and finds herself in an unsavory situation where her hands and neck are cut. She sends a message to Bear Bear who drops his food and runs to the room. He uses Dimension Door and enters the room with Khadhra. He immediately throws the man to the wall and knocks him out. Immediately after the fact, he goes to help Laela from the window alongside everyone else. Khadhra, on the other hand, goes to the unconscious man and slaps him awake. When he wakes, she takes a dagger to his throat to slowly and agonizingly slit his throat open while whispering in his ear, "do not touch what belongs to me."
Laela is taken care of and as Ris, Bear Bear, and Khadhra clean her blood from the room, she notices a slant of light that creates a reflection of a golden oval in the blood.
As the group reconvenes, everyone chastises Laela for her carelessness and goes about their own business. Khadhra takes the time to visit Sarcasm where she meets a Nushim shopkeep who concocts 3 potions that temporarily alters someone's blood composition. Each potion lasts 12 hours and will mask their blood in terms of scent. The potions cost 100 gold and was tested on the Nushim as proof of efficiency. Khadhra then leaves to a brothel and indulges in a night of fantasy.
