Shilver Oloven

Shilver Oloven (a.k.a. The Green Knight)

Character Sheet: Shilver

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

As a half-elf, Shilver's about as tall as an average elf at just over 6 feet, with the build of a very strong human. These features combine to make him one of the most imposing Halfies out there (though he can't compete with a Loxodon.)

Body Features

At 126 years old, Shilver's starting to show his age. He stands tall and can swing a sword just fine, but he's past his prime.

Facial Features

Shilver's olive skin and thick, dark hair comes from his human father. Thanks to his dully-pointed ears and sharp jaw, he barely passed for a full Lux elf (like his mother) in the war-torn nation of Sheloth.   It's rare for a Lux elf to be as combat-oriented as he is, which often drew suspicion from prying eyes. His half-breed status caused problems more than they helped him.   In Vaeruin, though, this distinction doesn't matter -- he's a Halfie just like all the others.

Identifying Characteristics

A few battle scars adorn his cheek and his chin.

Apparel & Accessories

Shilver wears the most practical armor he can find, often donning the aesthetic of a powerful warrior or knight. While most of Vaeruin's warrior are real-world Nordic or Viking inspired, Shilver carries a Celtic influence from his homeland.

Specialized Equipment

Preferring to keep his options open, Shilver "specializes" in versatile weapon usage. The Battlemaster can easily pick up and use any weapon he finds in the field, however he does favor certain types: longswords, throwing axes, and tactical options like nets.

Personal history

In the land of Sheloth, elves and humans had been at war for centuries. The two races vied for control over resources, territories, and political favor with third-party nations. Blood from both races soiled the ground; it was a slow, constant, hate-fueled tug of war.   Long ago, the elves' reign over humans was thorough and cruel. Most elves were old enough to remember the sins of mankind's parents and grandparents in ages past. In these dark times, some humans were even kept as slaves for rich families of elves.   Not all people shared this deep-seeded grudge, however. Throughout history, there existed those who fought for what is right.   126 years ago, at the height of Theron's reign, a Lux elf woman rescued a human man from captivity. The two of them traveled to a secret, forested stronghold called Efihliwe, where others who were lost or outcast could hide from the horrors of the world.   The elf's name was Drusilla, and the human's name was Dalton. Soon, the two of them fell in love, and Drusilla gave birth to a son named Shilver.   Growing up in the shrouded city of Efilhiwe, Shilver learned much from the druids who protected the ancient sanctuary. Over time, more people found the city as a refuge from turmoil or strife. Most looked different from him, including his half-sister, Laela, but he learned that such was the balance of nature: strength and wisdom lie in diversity.   When he was old enough, Shilver learned swordplay from an elder Efi named Kyalla. The young half-elf took to the blade at once, and by his mid-40s (barely an adolescent by elf standards) he was already a competent fighter. He joined the Efihliwe guard and helped to defend its nearby scout towers from the dangers of ever-encroaching war. The upper class of Luxoram and Noctrum sought revenge on the traitors and who had stolen their slaves, and sent mercenaries to the forest for blood. Under Shilver's watch, however, Efilhiwe would remain a safe haven.   Shilver's father, Dalton, died from old age at 90 years. His mother, Drusilla, was devastated. She fled from Efihliwe soon after, back to her homeland of Luxoram, and that was the last Shilver saw of her.   Soon after, halfway across the world, the reign of Theron finally came to an end. A human-led resistance toppled the elves' regime and lay waste to their Western cities, effectively splitting Sheloth into two halves. The humans of Tyre controlled the castled walls of High Constance, the previously-united Lux and Nox elves separated once more, and the world breathed a sigh of relief for a while.   That was fifty years ago. Some time after, the drums of war came to Efihliwe in an unexpected way.   All the humans living there had died by this time, but the elves and elf-blooded were still living in peace. Then, the Kingdom of Luxoram sought to conscript the long-living citizens into a new, "just" war against the humans across the world. After all -- they had savagely slain elvish royalty mere decades ago.   Shilver was one potential recruit, but he refused. The decision forced him to flee Efihliwe, abandoning his post and taking up a life on the road. For decades, he traveled the Ushanti desert and lived self-employed as a bounty hunter. The harsh, bloody life helped to hone his skills, however...   Twenty years ago, an unspeakable evil was unleashed...
