The Great Dragon
In ages long past, ‘fore light split from dark,
Preceding the beating of the Dragonheart,
The firmament fell from its place in the sky,
If you listen closely, you can hear the gods cry:
Woe be to those who bear witness to thine,
Herald the spilling blood of the divine,
Of darkness and thunder and gnashing of teeth,
Old gods torn asunder, the Dragon released!
Then from the throes of perdition begat,
Shimmering silver of dread purpose wrought,
Wings spanning galaxies, stars swept aside,
Echo forever the Dragon’s birth cries.
Woe be to those who bear witness to thine,
Herald the spilling blood blood of the divine,
Of darkness and thunder and gnashing of teeth,
Old gods torn asunder, the Dragon will feast!
Of darkness and thunder and gnashing of teeth,
The world torn asunder, no mercy, no peace.
