Valder (Fallen Crown)

The continent of Valder was founded long before it was named. When the original ancient chromatic dragons that tamed the lands fought against each other for control, the levied the many races there against each other in a ploy to wipe them out and feud amongst themselves. The third of his line of the Valder family sailed across from Porsandria and used the artifacts gifted to him by the platinum dragon god, Bahamut, to send the chromatic dragons away, and united their torn factions under his family banner. The Lin-Dai's, a family of traders, participated in the conflict and supplied the King Valder III with numerous resources needed for the army, and later, the rebuilding of the towns and lands devastated by the dragons.   The new city was named Valederon, and the main keep where the King's landing opened up the rest of the lands was coated in a brilliant platinum. All throughout the lands of Valder, the platinum city of Valederon is the crown jewel. The world rests here in the city as a mix of cultures from the six wars coalesces, but never truly mixing. Each of the six kingdoms wrenches out a district in the city, only out of respect for the seventh. Despite being at peace, the city is a powder keg waiting to go off, but the people here, either through ignorance or hope, will never tell you that. Valder itself is home to human, elf, and dwarf alike, some native, some coming over from the Elvish lands of Porsandria. Other uncommon races call this place home, but most fey and other creatures trickle in from places unknown.   After 500 years, the lands of Valder remain relatively unconquered, save the few footholds outside the city that have been expanded to as the ages have passed Now, the last of the Valder family have ceased to be, and the final remaining heir to the Crown has vanished.   The newest recruits to the Grey Order. The symbol of the order is a grey eye emblazoned on a purple tapestry. Originally said to be started as a band of six adventurers, but the history has long since been muddled by fable and legend. Older than the six wars and, they keep the land free of monsters and aberrations so the people are free to struggle amongst themselves. They seek people who wish for a higher calling, a struggle larger than themselves. Every ten years, challenges are held to bring in new members to join the order. Those that find themselves brazen enough to pass the challenges are soon embroiled in larger and more dangerous ones. After recent years and an increase in monster sightings, many in the order have fallen in battle. They represent the hope of the common people.
