Bulwark of Life
Early during Julianor Denmart's rule it was obvious that her people would need skilled healers if they were to reclaim this shatter realm. She saw that they were instructed in mundane as well as magical healing, and with careful instruction from Valdifitz Emis even those without magical talent could provide some innate healing through more subtle means. Eventually these acolytes went abroad to help settle the kingdom. Her Grace's Bulwark of Life wasn't constructed until some time later when these students as well as thousands of people that were saved from disease and injury decided to honor The Ruby Empress for her foresight of such an endeavor.
The Bulwark of life was constructed facing East across the Silverstream near the The Old Bridge. Amongst those that undertook the project were many craftsmen and they took all care to make this place of learning and healing a place of beauty that all those approaching from the East would see as a symbol of hope. It's stones were of white limestone with windows tinted red to represent the great country which produced such healers. It's interior was mainly developed to accommodate learning and teaching though on many occasions it's been converted for active use.
Because the Old Bridge has fallen there is no longer an easy way to access this house of healing from the East, meaning it's not actively used for healing the sick or wounded, and since the Mages academy has restricted the teaching of magic to it's walls only very few people actually come here to learn. This facet of Rubi'Sarha has been dulled by time and lost to all those but the very wise.
The above is what one would find in any textbook concerning this forgotten place but those willing to follow the paths of their ancestors or the stories of old midwives would find this run down bastion against death still has secrets, still has forbidden magic, still has teachers of the old ways.
