Captain

Captain is a title given to the commander of a military unit, a ship, or a port. Captain is a military title in armies, fleets, militias, and city guards, often at the level of an officer commanding an infantry company or battalion, a ship, or an artillery battery, or other comparable unique unit. Additionally, the term may be used as an informal or honorary title for individuals who hold similar commanding positions.
