Devil

Devils are particularly terrible demon, capable of viciously attacking and murdering people seemingly at random. They, on the other hand, despise enduring adversity. Along with their viciousness, devils are incapable of holding themselves accountable for their deeds. Devils, desperate to find someone or something to blame, will go to any length to wreak revenge on those they believe are responsible, regardless of the cost. Demoted devils may continuously seek the descendants of a deceased creature who played a little role in the devil's downfall, even after regaining control of their powers.   Devils are more than happy to outsource their work. While devils may appear to be lazy, their primary personality characteristic is ambition, implying they are not. They are ever on the lookout for new means of acquiring power. The devil's motivation for this behavior is his desire to accomplish his own objectives. They desire advancement through the ranks and to have the rules modified in their favor.   Emotional motivation is a powerful incentive for these devils, even more so when confronted with the possibility of death. These devils can be driven into foolish behavior, even to the point of death, if given sufficient provocation.   Numerous magical talents are frequently observed in devils. Several devils divide and conquer opposing troops and factions by generating a terrifying atmosphere. Devils frequently possess illusionary abilities, which they use to confound their adversaries. Often, this type of power is used to provide themselves with fictitious support. They use their rivals' inability to distinguish between a phony summons and a genuine one. In the majority of situations, a devil who employs true divine magic learned it straight from Bulir the Envious, rather than having it given upon them by another god. However, a devil may also have obtained divine power through Khydar the Unnatural.   While fighting anything, devils believe that the quickest possible death for their foes is the best potential end. For instance, even after knocking out an adversary, they do not consider their mission complete. They'll decapitate the unconscious opponent before going on to the next adversary. This is to ensure that the unconscious individual cannot be reintroduced to combat, such as by the use of healing spells.   They also realize that, while death on the material plane is unlikely to result in their ultimate demise, it may result in a significant loss of status, such as rank and reputation, or even demotion to a lesser type of demon. When a fight does not go their way, they have no issue fleeing. When it comes to combat, a devil does not waste time determining if the conflict is going his way or not. Their summoning abilities can be employed immediately to place their allies in advantageous situations, for example. They will go to any length to aid their allies in locating them to defend them during a combat. When possible, devils dispatch minions to confront their rivals in order to deplete their adversaries' resources. They keep track of who they dispatch and who they do not dispatch. Devils of lesser importance are dispatched first, followed by those of greater importance if the devil is found to be mistaken in their assessment of their foes' abilities.   When flying devils come into fight with angels or godtouched, they take the initiative. Tanglefoot Bags are frequently used against heavenly beings to bring them to the ground, where an army of earth-bound devils can assault them. When confronted with angels and godtouched , they employ fire as a highly effective method of defeating their otherworldly adversaries.   The devils are responsible for constantly monitoring the number of demons, regardless of their rank. Keeping track of their personal accomplishments in order to demonstrate to their superiors how exceptional they are is also a practice. They have, at the very least, articulated the strategy they are pursuing. The devils will go to any length to keep this information out of the hands of a rival power and to keep it hidden. The methods for destroying records to avoid leakage are examined, as well as the devil's persistence in maintaining or retrieving documents. When they are attacked and their minions are unable to deal with the invaders, one of the first things they do is to protect their papers from falling into the hands of the assailants, which may mean completely destroying them.   When it comes to devils, money is nothing unless it assists them in accomplishing their objectives. As a result, devils are willing to part up their financial riches in order to avoid generating trouble. However, certain devils have been tasked with collecting money for Bulir 's benefit. These devils value material prosperity highly and are willing to risk their lives to obtain it.   While engaged in combat, devils are not above diverting their focus to other issues in order to complete the task at hand. Their lairs are a physical manifestation of their fighting strategy. As a result, their positions are picked to maximize their own advantages while maximizing their competitors' disadvantages. Additionally, demons adjust their physical surroundings by utilizing their immunities, increasing the difficulties in their lairs, and selecting sites that spread unpleasant circumstances to everyone except themselves. Devils that are resistant to poison, for example, may prefer to hide in areas naturally contaminated with toxic substances.   Each devil strives to organize a few constants when constructing his or her lair. Traps are a significant element of the devil's tactics, and they employ them extensively around their lairs to keep their minions informed of their whereabouts. Restriction of their adversaries' freedom of movement is also a high goal. Devils will construct barriers in such a way that they push opponents into a single location where they can be instantly annihilated. Finally, devils who labor in areas where Bulir's power has been absorbed may seek to reproduce one of The Asylum's more frightening visions. Rather than out of nostalgia, they're attempting to elicit terror by viewing a scene that reminds them of The Asylum. This may jeopardize their adversaries' combat preparation and expertise. Another frequent occurrence is the setting of alarms, even if they are not magical.   It has been established that devils will abandon combat if they believe they cannot win. As a result, the devil's lair incorporates at least two exits. They'll begin with a straightforward one that the devil has no intention of using, but that its adversaries will notice and spend energy preventing. Additionally, the devil will have a well-protected escape route. Devils are well-known for erecting dangers such as built-in rock falls to prevent their adversaries from fleeing.   There is little hope for mortals unless and until the devil is slaughtered or conquered. It is fairly commonplace for the devil's adversaries to face torture or punishment, if defeated or the devil survives a confrontation, neither of which is enticing to even the most daring adventurers.   All devils share one biological trait, and it's called the ovatorium. Each of the organ's spongy white sacs contains a small devil figure. To complete the process of "promotion", a swelling occurs in the contents of the matching sac, which then bursts through the skin of the preceding form.   Numerous devils' eyes are capable of seeing in complete darkness. Magical darkness is no match for their vision, which is resistant to even greater magic. Their perspectives differ significantly from those of the majority of creatures. They see only devastation and despair in the universe. They can tell the difference between the stench of a cesspit and the fragrance of a beautiful perfume. However, devils do not perceive these variances as delightful or unpleasant, but as more or less unpleasant than each other.   Devils do not require any sustenance to survive. Food and drink can be a leisure activity, such as elegant dining, or a demonstration of strength and dominance, such as gorging on a beaten opponent's body.   Lemures, or "little demons", are the devil's initial stage of development. Due to the inability of female demons to conceive, they are unable to reproduce sexually. A male is capable of fathering Half-Fiend with a mortal.   By and large, demons view sex as a pleasurable activity, with the powerful substantially more likely to engage in it than the weak.   When a devil dies in The Asylum, he or she is permanently destroyed. Toxic but not fatal, the slimy substance that arises from the decomposition of a devil outside The Asylum can be consumed by anyone with the audacity to do so and is claimed to grant extended life. If a devil is killed outside The Asylum, it can resurrect, fully restored to its original form in The Asylum. They do, however, take approximately fifty years to revert to their previous state. Especially if the devil in question is low-ranking, it is likely that the fallen devil will be demoted to a lesser form.   Devils have an essentially endless life as a result of their eternal youth. Devils who look to be unwell are either under a curse or are afflicted by some supernatural affliction, or they are not absorbing enough demonic power.
