Dryad

Fey creatures that appear as beautiful, delicate women carved out of soft wood. Their hair changes color with the seasons. Generally benign and welcoming, they can be fearsome creatures if their wrath is aroused. The surest way to anger them is to destroy plants or trees in the dryad's forest. Each dryad's life force is bound to a particular tree and the dryad will die if the tree is destroyed. Hence dryad's are rarely found far from their tree.
