Kapusmack Islands

The Kapusmack Islands are a group of islands located north of Mithlerien. The Inner and Outer Kapusmacks are the islands' two principal divisions, based on their distance from the mainland. The Inner Kapusmacks comprise the smallest proportion of the two subgroups.
The Kapusmacks are divided in two by the Sea of Hatsay to the west and the Tides of Lourtana to the east. The Inner Kapusmacks contain 36 inhabited islands that are closer to Mithlerien's mainland. The Outer Kapusmacks are a group of around a hundred islands located approximately 45 miles north of the mainland. They are home to a diverse assortment of creatures. Around fifteen of them are believed to be habitable. Some have suggested that "South of the Sea of Hatsay" is the true location of the Inner Kapusmacks. However, any offshore island, including those within sea lochs, would fall under this criteria, making it inaccurate. Due to the absence of a proper definition, the status of individual islands as Kapusmacks members or non-members is always shifting.
Due to their immensity, the Outer Kapusmacks have been dubbed "The Great Isles." They are occasionally referred to as the Northern Isles, but this term can refer to either the group as a whole or to individual subgroups of islands.
A temperate and consistent climate is noteworthy for such a remote location as the Kapusmacks, given their northern latitude. This is due to the effect of ocean currents. The average temperature in the winter month of Destus is 44 degrees Fahrenheit, whereas the average temperature in the summer month of Likush is 57 degrees Fahrenheit. On average, 43 inches of rain fall each year, and the sun shines for only about 1100 to 1200 hours per year. Cruer through Asmir are the driest months of the year, with the longest days.
