Monstrous Peak
The approach to the highest point of the Island of Bute is an unpleasant one through thick knee high grass interspersed with bogs. Once at the foot of the dramatically named hill, the ascent is relatively short and easy, with pleasant views over the surrounding area. Local legend has it that the hill once housed an entrance to the Undervale but no such passage has been discovered despite the efforts of numerous adventurous youths on the island.
