Pansoul Recreation Center
Over 200 years ago, as necromancy rose to new heights in popularity and power, a public decree was made by the Emperor of Druna. It set forth a swarm of laws that expanded the freedoms of necromancers and their practice, including the allowance of mass graveyard excavations. Pansoul Cemetery was one of the dozens of burial grounds that were dug up over a decade-long effort that was stalled by protests and political upheaval. The backlash erupted from Drunan citizens who wanted to continue traditional funerary practices, like burying the dead and visiting gravesites long after they lost their loved ones.
Over time, however, the public opinion was won over by the new laws, and graveyards would soon become a thing of the past. In an effort to create peace with dissenting opinions, the Necromantic Chapter of the Drunan Magical Society pioneered a community effort to repurpose all burial grounds. Some became community centers, residential and commercial construction sites, and government buildings. However, the most economic option was to turn most of these locations into sprawling parks.
Pansoul Cemetery Park is one such former-burial-ground-turned-recreation-site. However, due to the location in the least desirable parts of Death's Lull, the large tree-lined space is not frequented by polite company. Many in the Ashburn Quarter of Death's Lull know that Pansoul Cemetery Park is a haven for shady deals, black market exchanges, and other nefarious activities.
The lush grass that once rolled over mounds of buried bodies is now overgrown and knee-high in some places, giving the park the look of a wild grassland. The trees have grown in numerous clusters around the area, providing lots of shade for the likely criminals that frequent this place. The Pansoul Recreation Center is at the heart of the park. It is covered in vulgar graffiti, and a stench hovers over it. Strange people come and go from the building, and some never make it back out. Rumors say that this is the regular stomping grounds of notorious criminal Claude Garnier, AKA "The Noose." No one dares seek him out here, however, for this is not a place where the noble should willfully venture.
