Weather Forts

Fantastic and unnatural structures raise from the mountain sides of the northern range. It is unknown by what natural or supernatural event where these single pieces of rock came from, as they are not consistent with the surrounding minerals. Massive and graying, single slabs called Stone Sails rise from deep within the mountain and convex over the settlements carved into the mountain itself and completely cover them.   The Northern range rises like a crest, separating the seaward and landward forts. Usually, the stone sails are much thicker on the seaward side of the range and shield the residences during the hurricane season.   It is these sails that those living in the valley of man think of when they hear Weather Fort. When one has the opportunity to see a majority of the range from afar; completely surrounded by the lush vegetation, it can look as though the sails resemble the scales of a lizard or the scabs on an knee.
