Session 3 - Emmalyn
General Summary
Emmalyn sat against a side of the tent. She brought her knees close to her chest and let out a sigh. Emmalyn then reached into her bag and pulled out a journal. The journal itself was in pristine condition. Inside, the pages were full of writing in Sylvan with a few sketches here and there to go with some of the writing.
Emmalyn flipped to the latest blank page and stared at it in silence. After a while she finally started writing something in it.
"Dear Satti: It's been a while since I wrote in this thing. Last time was before I left home. A lot has happened since then. So much in fact that it would take far too long to write it all out. Regardless things just keep getting worse. When it finally seemed like we had some kind of lead on how to deal with this disease, we found out more people have been exposed to it. A couple and their children. Fate can be so cruel sometimes.
The others couldn't find a way to break the news to the family, being vague was not helping but being blunt only made them scared. In the end we managed to convey the urgency of the matter and that they should seek medical attention. We then met with Elro later in the day where we discussed our next move. Once we decided what we were going to do next. We agreed to take a boat that would take us to the close to the ruins were Honjou found the relics.
After that was decided we split up in an attempt to gather information. Unfortunately we only got a couple of vague leads. Kuroki apparently tried to contact us through Cedric Woodleaf, he seems more focused on finding the bones than curing the people that are dying. I'm beginning to question why he really gave me that mask and what he wants me to do with it. Once we were ready to go we made a final stop by a clinic to check on the family we met earlier. We got some good news, a cure is possible but unfortunately it won't be ready in time. The cruelty of fate struck again.
With that in mind it became clear that finding a cure in the ruins was our only option at saving them. We finally headed to the ship Elro arranged for us and set sail to the ruins. We got there pretty late and met up with Obel Mustave she used to be Honjou's girlfriend it seems. She was devastated by the news but the soft and gentle approach worked this time. Once she was done crying over Honjou she was able to give us some information on the ruins, but also warned us against going so late at night without the proper gear.
I wish we could've gone right away but she was probably right. I fear that we won't make it in time. The others seem to think that we still have a chance but something in me tells me that it might be too late for @tulgi at least the kids and their parents might still have a chance to survive."
With that Emmalyn finished writing on her journal. She closed it and put it back in her bag. She rested her head on her knees and closed her eyes. Before long she had fallen asleep.
